New Art and Design resource

Students and staff now have access to a new Art and Design resource called Interior design and architecture: critical and primary sources.  This resource is reference only and is available on the open shelves in Adelphi Library at the class mark 729INT.  It comes in four volmes: 

Design awareness 
Sensory engagement 
Cinematic expectation 
Public interaction  

If you need any help finding it just ask at the Enquiry Desk in the library.

New Postgraduate research study space now available

There is now a dedicated postgraduate research study space available for use in Clifford Whitworth library.  This is exclusively for use by postgraduate research students and is located on the ground floor of Clifford Whitworth library, opposite the Enquiry Desk.  You will need your ID card to access the room and access is restricted to postgraduate research students only.

Facilities in the room include:
  • Six PCs
  • Individual study tables
  • Soft seating areas 
 Take a look next time you're in the library!

Typography books now at Allerton Library

In response to staff and student demand in Graphic Design, a large selection of Typography books have been moved to Allerton Library.

They can be found around the shelf number 686, in the level 2 extension area of the library.  For help locating these, please ask at the Enquiry Desk on level 1.

Online Bookshop now available!


The Library has teamed up with Dawson Books, and can now offer students and staff the opportunity to purchase textbooks and get 10% off the RRP.  You can visit the online bookshop and have orders sent to either Clifford Whitworth, Allerton or Adelphi library sites.  Please see the website her for further details:

New item in stock - Creative Industries: Critical Readings

Creative industries: critical readings has arrived in stock and is shelved at 338.477/CRE at Adelphi Library. It is a Reference-only item, and consists of four volumes entitled: 'Concepts', 'Economy', 'Organization', and 'Work'.

Creative Industries: Critical Readings "brings together the key writings - drawing on both journals and books - to present an authoritative and wide-ranging survey of this emerging field of study. The set is presented with an introduction and the writings are divided into four volumes, organized thematically: Volume 1: Concepts - focuses on the concept of creativity and the development of government and industry interest in creative industries; Volume 2: Economy - maps the role and function of creative industries in the economy at large; Volume 3: Organization - examines the ways in which creative institutions organize themselves; and Volume 4: Work - addresses issues of creative work, labour and careers."
