Extra drop-in inductions for new students

Extra drop-in induction sessions for new students have been scheduled.  They are:

Library tours now available

There are now library tours available for each site to help new and existing students find there way round the library and locate our facilities.  The tours can be accessed on each of the library site pages here:

Just follow the tour by locating the tour stops dotted around the library. 

Library opening hours


As the new semester has begun, here are the new semester Library opening hours for Sept 17th 2012 onward:

Clifford Whitworth library will be open 
Mon – Fri: 08.00 – 24.00
Sat – Sun: 10.00 – 22.00

v        In early October we expect to extend these opening hours to 24/7.  Please check the website as any changes to the opening hours will be advertised here:  http://www.salford.ac.uk/library/using/openinghours#clifford-tab

Adelphi Library will be open
Mon – Thurs: 08.30 – 19.00
Fri: 08.30 – 17.00
Sat : 12.00– 1800
Sun: Closed

Allerton library will be open
Mon – Thurs: 08.00 – 19.00
Fri: 08.00 – 17.00
Sat – Sun: 12.00– 1800

Online Bookshop now available!


The Library has teamed up with Dawson Books, and can now offer students and staff the opportunity to purchase textbooks and get 10% off the RRP.  You can visit the online bookshop and have orders sent to either Clifford Whitworth, Allerton or Adelphi library sites.  Please see the website her for further details:

Library resource: Fashion Monitor



This is a reminder that our subscription to Fashion Monitor is alive and well; it’s just online only now. You can access it at www.fashionmonitor.com or through the E-Journals link on SOLAR (search by journal title). If you haven’t done so, you’ll need to create your own login using your University email address as your username, then make up a password.  

PLEASE NOTE: it’s available on campus only because of the limitations of the subscription.
